Common questions about the Mobile App and EVV

Is CompanyOn EVV compliant for US Medicaid requirements?
Yes. CompanyOn captures all six EVV data points required by the 21st Century Cures Act: type of service, individual receiving service, date, location, individual providing service, and time. Compliance reports are exportable in standard formats accepted by state aggregators.
Does the GPS tracking drain the phone battery?
No. CompanyOn only captures GPS at visit start and end — not continuously throughout the day. In daily testing, our agency users report negligible battery impact compared to other tracking apps.
What happens to data captured offline if my phone breaks before sync?
All offline data is encrypted and stored locally on the device. If a sync fails, the data persists. If the phone is replaced, our support team can help recover unsync'd data in most cases. We strongly recommend syncing daily.
Can clients sign on the clinician's phone, or do they need their own device?
Clients sign directly on the clinician's phone or tablet using their finger or stylus. No client-side app needed. Signatures are tied to the visit record with timestamp and GPS for compliance.
Does the app work in remote rural areas with poor connectivity?
Yes — that's exactly why offline mode exists. You can perform a complete visit (read chart, write note, capture signature, generate invoice) with zero internet. Sync happens automatically when you regain signal, even days later.
